Your Hosts Peter, Jennifer and family have been visiting Japan Snow fields since 2008. With a skiing background in the Australian Alps and a passion for all things snow they are dedicated to helping you enjoy Myoko Akakura and it's surrounding areas. Ask anyone of the staff and they will happily help you organise a day trip to neighbouring resorts and local places of interest.
We are fortunate to be in a prime area of Myoko Akakura with lifts, restaurants, shuttle bus, post office all within a 5 min walk.
Engage in Japanese culture with local restaurants only 100mt from our front door and the friendly locals that will enlighten you about their beautiful Alpine area that is Myoko Akakura Onsen.
Feel free to treat our home as your home, relax in our natural Onsen, grab a book and chill in the communal lounge area. Enjoy an apres drink from the bar, watch a movie on Netflix, get the gang together for a game of Jenga, or simply relax and get to know the other guests, the choice is yours.
Summer offers a different experience to the extremes of winter and its 15 mts + of snow fall. The mountain comes alive in all its 1,000 shades of green. Walk the many and varied trails and experience amazing alpine views, swim or enjoy Sup ,canoeing, and fishing at Lake Nojiri. Take a bike trail and witness the beautifull rice field terraces that sit below the mountains, or simply bathe in the delights of the cedar forests and its temples. A temperate climate makes for the perfect escape from the humidity of big cities.
